Letters To and From Our Clients

March 30, 2004

After some consideration, we decided to inform our clients about the allegations that Mr. Diallo and the Sprague Street Neighborhood Association were making against us. Who better to speak about our character and reputation than ThinkTech Design's clients themselves. This is the letter we sent out to our clients, and their responses.

A Letter to Our Clients

Since April 1999, when Gretchen and I started ThinkTech Design, we have strived to learn more about what our customers want and need.  The applications that we use to craft our web site designs, as well as the computers and network equipment used at our data center, were all chosen with great care to insure compliance with standard design practices and to provide a stable and  trouble free web site hosting environment.  We continue to look for areas that require improvement on our part, while at the same time realizing that no matter how well we do, we may not always measure-up to some expectations.

An important time has come for ThinkTech Design.  We have been accused, by a former customer, of misrepresentation and fraud.  This former customer, as a reason for not having to pay his bill, is alleging that Gretchen and I induced him into signing a design contract by misrepresenting our design and technical skills.

This is a first for us.  We always understood that an occasion such as this, might present itself, and that one day we might have to defend our ethics and business practices.  Now that time is at hand.  We are about to step out onto a stormy sea, and we would very much appreciate hearing your comments and recollections about how ThinkTech Design has treated you and your business, and how we addressed your questions and concerns regarding your web site projects.  From the time that we first meet until your web site project was launched and beyond, in your own words, how have we done?

We would very much appreciate your comments.  We also understand that many of you are probably twice as busy as we are, but Gretchen and I would be grateful for any time that you may be able to spare to respond to this request before this Friday, April 2nd.

Please feel free to call Gretchen or myself if you have any questions or concerns.

Yours Truly,

Robert J. Butler & Gretchen K. Deahl
ThinkTech Design

Robert and Gretchen:

All of the work and services you have provided for us in the past 18
months have nothing less than first rate. All of the work you have done
has been just as you said it would and the few times we have had any
technical difficulties, you helped us solve them quickly and painlessly.
I have recommended you to a number of friends and business associates.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Sincerely,
Jocie Dye

Gretchen and Rob,

I have worked with website design firms on the real estate website I had in the past. So I came to you last year with some experience and "benchmark." As I previously indicated to Gretchen, I have found working with both of you and ThinkTech Design an absolute pleasure in both the design and technical aspects of my current site. Both of you have been extremely professional, responsive to my needs on a timely basis, and honest on a continuing basis--both before and after I signed the contract with you. You have lived up to my high expectations and have exceeded them.

On a personal note, I am distressed that this former customer is playing games and trying to put you in a situation where you have to defend your reputation. I wish you well and trust that the outcome of this will be in your favor.

Any dealings I have had with ThinkTech design both as a personal and corporate customer have been of the highest professional quality. Robert and Gretchen are consummate professionals and I would be willing to provide this same testimony at anytime to anyone.

FYI, I will be out of town next week, April 5-11).

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to express my deep appreciation for the outstanding job that
ThinkTech Design performed for the Playground-Raising Project at Henry
Houston School. Our group formed to organize and construct a
community-initiated, community-supported and community-built playground at a
Philadelphia public elementary school. Early in 2002, as a steering
committee member of this all-volunteer project, I approached ThinkTech about
creating a web site for our organization. Robert and Gretchen met with me,
made some helpful suggestions to guide our site planning, and quickly and
efficiently produced our web site, based on content our group provided.

Throughout the course of the year, which culminated in a community
construction week in October, Robert and Gretchen were always available to
process the frequent revisions, announcements, donor listings, and article
postings that I and my fellow steering committee members added to the site.
We received many compliments on the attractive appearance and user-friendly
design of the site. The nature of the site necessitated various feedback
forms, frequently updated listings and links to sponsoring organizations,
data-heavy tool lists, and many photos. Robert and Gretchen were always
professional, gracious, friendly and efficient in handling our requests.

Finally, not to be minimized in the case of our all-volunteer, nonprofit
organization, ThinkTech provided all their services pro bono as a
contribution to the Mt. Airy community. ThinkTech is one of the businesses
that makes Mt. Airy the cooperative and welcoming community that it is.

Dear Robbie and Gretchen,

We are completely pleased with the work you have done for us. The website
you designed for Bill several years ago is beautiful. Pretty early on, when
there was some friction about its function and content between Tom and Bill,
you helped to mediate toward a very happy solution. That took the desire and
ability to understand and satisfy BOTH Tom, whose idea and money got the
site built, and Bill, whose professional life the site showcases.

You have supported the site's maintenance well also, whether scanning in new
book covers, coaching me on how to add text updates myself, and uploading
those changes from the test site to the production site promptly once I've
made them.

You are both a real pleasure to work with. Moreover, we trust your skills,
and your integrity.

Sorry to hear you're having this legal trouble right now. I'm glad though
(and not surprised) that it's only the first. May it also be the last! I hope
this email gives you what you need. Let us know if Bill or I can do anything
more to assist you.

Anne Ehrhart
