About Robert, Gretchen And ThinkTech Design

Robert J. Butler

Robert’s Field Service Engineering experience with such companies as Merganthaler Linotype, Copar Corporation, BankTech, Inc. and IBM provide a solid problem solving background and mastery of past and present computer and communication technologies. As the IT Operations Manager for the North Philadelphia Health System, his focus and goal were to provide and maintain “mission-critical” services to better equip the hospital to function at peak efficiency. This same “mission-critical” attitude forms the foundation of ThinkTech Design’s service delivery strategy.

Robert’s computer hardware and networking experience, in addition to his skills as a web applications programmer, complement Gretchen’s creative leadership as ThinkTech Design’s Creative Director.

Gretchen K. Deahl

As an award-winning illustrator, Gretchen has applied her creative talents in fields as diverse as real-estate advertising to hospital marketing and communications. When methods incorporating computer technology entered the world of graphic design, she expanded her repertoire of skills to include digital art and web design. Her varied styles of illustration and graphic design skills have been used in newspapers, magazines, brochures, as well as on the World Wide Web. She has served as ThinkTech Design’s Creative director for the past five years.

ThinkTech Design

ThinkTech Design opened for business in April of 1999. In th midst of a shaky economy, and with many Philadelphia Hospitals, including the ones they used to work for, in financial chaos, ThinkTech Design's Web Design and Hosting business flourished as more and more small businesses expanded to the World Wide Web. Their first client, Holy Redeemer Health System, remains their largest client almost five years later.

The choice of the couple to function as a home-based business was driven by their need to help provide around-the-clock assistance for Gretchen's father who entered into home hospice care after a long battle with cancer. Gretchen's dad, a genealogist and information specialist, played a major role in the crafting of the format of ThinkTech Design's proposals. He passed away at home, as was his wish, on June 2, 2003. Tom's book, "The Hospice Experience - A Consumer Guide to Dying with Style" received wide recognition, and the family still receives requests for his book today.

Always with an emphasis on putting family and people first, ThinkTech Design continues to grow, adding affordable new products and services regularly. ThinkTech Design's strictly enforced policy forbidding "obscene" or "adult" related material, as well as their "zero-tolerance policy" against email spam has endeared them to many family, community and religious groups and organizations.

ThinkTech Design is a proud member of the Mt. Airy Business Association in Philadelphia, PA.
