1.) The Slowly Turning Wheels of Justice

The Slowly Turning Wheels of Justice
June 8, 2005

The wheels of the legal system often turn slowly, but the good news is that they do turn. It has been more than two years since Alimou Diallo and the Sprague Street Neighborhood Association defaulted on their web site design contract with ThinkTech Design, a small husband and wife web design company. When ThinkTech Design filed suit in January 2004, little did they expect the legal process to drag on for as long as it has.

Now, more than eighteen months after filing for a Court judgement, ThinkTech Design may finally see the case decided in its favor for the second time. Later this month the case will be heard by a panel of three attorneys in what is known as an arbitration hearing. While it is highly likely that the case would be decided in ThinkTech Design’s favor, persistent appeals may keep the case from being truly settled for years.

Alimou Diallo and the Sprague Street Neighborhood Association are now being represented by their third Attorney since the first Court appearance in January 2004. Why their first two Attorneys stopped representing them, is any one’s guess. Perhaps they quit, concerned for their reputations and careers, or perhaps they were fired, but either way constant switching to new Attorneys must be costing Alimou Diallo and the Sprague Street Neighborhood Association a small fortune. It seems silly for either side to continue, but continue ThinkTech Design has vowed to do. All prayed up, and receiving prayers daily, ThinkTech Design will patiently press on and hope for the best.

With the wheels of justice turning so slowly ThinkTech Design has plenty of time to consider its next move. Among the ideas under consideration, is one to auction off the debt to whomever wants to collect it. While there are those who have their doubts about the interest in such a proposition, ThinkTech Design has received enough offers to wonder why it didn’t consider this in the first place.
